PCOS ➡️ PMOS

PCOS is more than just “irregular periods.”
It’s a whole-body condition that can affect hormones, metabolism, skin, mood, fertility, inflammation, and insulin sensitivity.

One of the biggest things I want patients to understand is this:

  • PCOS is not just about your ovaries.

  • And symptoms are not just something you have to live with.

Many women with PCOS also struggle with:
• Fatigue
• Weight changes or difficulty losing weight
• Acne or hair loss
• Anxiety or mood changes
• Cravings and blood sugar swings
• Fertility challenges
• Chronic inflammation

One of the major drivers behind PCOS is often insulin resistance, even in women who are lean. Elevated insulin can stimulate higher androgen (testosterone-type hormone) production, contributing to many classic PCOS symptoms.

The good news? Lifestyle and metabolic support can make a huge difference.

Some foundational strategies that may help support hormone balance include:

  • Blood sugar-stabilizing nutrition

  • Strength training + movement

  • Prioritizing sleep

  • Stress reduction and nervous system support

  • Supporting gut health

  • Correcting nutrient deficiencies

  • Looking deeper at labs instead of only masking symptoms

And most importantly: treatment should be individualized. Not every woman with PCOS looks the same, and not every treatment approach works for every body.

If you’ve been told your symptoms are “normal” or you’ve felt dismissed, know that there are often deeper root contributors worth exploring.

I take a root-cause and integrative approach to hormone and metabolic health to help patients better understand what’s driving their symptoms.
